YOGA STARS is part of a feature campaign hosted by Vibrant Yogini where an experienced yoga teacher or enthusiast was interviewed about their beautiful journey learning yoga, as well as their newfound views as a yoga practitioner.
It was created to try and remove the gap between confident and expert yogi’s, and those who have just started to practice yoga or who are curious to learn more about it.
The truth is, and especially as an experienced yoga teacher myself, we never want you to feel intimidated or discouraged to start learning yoga.
Therefore, it is important to remember that each and every yoga teacher started fresh from the beginning as a newbie once upon a time.
So take a read of the yoga interviews and learn more about the experience of each participant as they share their story. The main aim of this campaign is to motivate you to continue your journey no matter where you are on it.
Designed to inspire your yoga practice and encourage you to follow your dreams.

Where are you originally from?

When did you start practicing yoga and why?
I started practicing yoga 6 years ago.
It was a difficult time for me so I decided to take up yoga to relax and feel more comfortable.

What got you hooked?
At first, I didn’t practice very consistently.
But after a while, I could see some difference in my body and mind so I took it more seriously.
My mind felt relaxed and calm.
My body felt lighter, better immune system and better digestive process.
What is your favourite asana and why?
I like inversion poses in general.
But I can say that my favorite asana is headstand.
It can be really difficult but fun.
You can always be creative and every time I practice it, I can always find something new and enjoyable.
Which asana have you found the most challenging within your practice (and why)?
Middle split is always challenging for me.
I don’t know if it’s about my bone structure, my weak inner thighs.
But I’m working on it. So hopefully I’ll be better soon.
Where did you do your training/s and what courses have you completed?
I take the training from YogaWorks.
How has yoga impacted your life?
Yoga has opened a totally new pathway for me.
I have learned a great deal of good knowledge, about anatomy, yoga philosophy, and so on.
I have also made new good friends who I’m grateful for.

Which type of yoga do you teach/ specialize in?
I’m interested in Vinyasa and Ashtanga.
I mainly teach vinyasa flows but also incorporate Hatha and some pranayama.
What do you enjoy about this particular style of yoga?
Vinyasa flow gives heat and energy with fast movements so it doesn’t get boring.
My students like stretching so I often teach heart opening poses.
Those poses can open up unexpectedly feelings, which is quite surprising.
What’s your mission as a yoga instructor?
I hope yoga practitioners don’t focus too much on flexibility.
Strength should be invested more in order to create balance for the body.
If you could give only one piece of advice to others who are looking to start yoga what would it be?
Listen to your body. You are your best teacher!
